Who We are

The Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) is the professional association for those employed in Wisconsin school districts and other educational institutions who serve on the business side of school operations. WASBO also offers membership to retirees, students and individuals from businesses that provide goods and services to educational institutions in Wisconsin. WASBO invites you to learn about our mission and vision, WASBO's organizational structure, and our celebration of the best in school business administration and management.

WASBO Memberships

Our membership includes District Professional, Service Affiliate, Student and Retiree members. District Professionals are employees in Wisconsin school districts and other educational institutions who serve in areas of business administration, accounting, facilities/buildings and grounds, transportation, food service, purchasing, and many other responsibilities needed on the non-instructional side of school district operations. Service Affiliates are individuals from businesses that provide goods and services to educational institutions in Wisconsin. WASBO also has memberships for graduate students and retirees.

Mission

To provide professional development, to foster a network of support and to advocate for funding that ensures outstanding educational opportunities for all children in Wisconsin.

Governance

A 13-member board serving three-year terms governs both WASBO Boards independently. One of the seats on the board is appointed by the President to be filled by a Service Affiliate member. The Board has embraced and is utilizing Policy Governance (Coherent Governance). About WASBO

The Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) was founded in 1947 and has been an affiliate of the Association of School Business Officials International since 1964. In order to legally meet the Vision and Mission, WASBO has two legal identities. The Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials, Foundation, a 501 c (3), provides for professional development, professional networking and charitable purposes. The Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials, Incorporated, a 501c(6), provides for day-to-day operations, governmental relations services and an advocacy voice for children’s educational opportunities.

WASBO Foundation

WASBO Foundation, Inc. is a 501c(3) and was established to offer quality professional development and networking, as well as support our charitable initiatives. These charitable initiatives include providing over $25,000 in student scholarships each year to high school seniors and school business management students. The Foundation often includes an activity that provides a charitable donation to a cause benefiting children and the community.

To make a tax-deductible contribution to the Contributions can be mailed to the WASBO Foundation you can mail a check payable to WASBO Foundation to 4797 Hayes Road, Suite 202, Madison WI 53704 or make a donation online. Gifts of property are subject to guidelines established by the WASBO Foundation Board of Trustees. Your inquiries are always welcomed by the Executive Director at 608-249-8588.
