2017 Wisconsin Federal Funding Conference

Presented by WASBO Foundation, WCASS, and the
Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction
As of 1:58 PM on Friday, January 13, registration is sold out. You can join the waiting list here.
Your district's program staff and operational staff are invited to this
team learning opportunity covering the intricacies of Title I and
IDEA Funding compliance, and much, much more.
School districts and DPI currently exist in a plane of the unknown – although new laws and proposed rules have been put forth for both ESEA and IDEA, the forth coming change in Federal administration has delayed the guidance on how the new laws will be implemented. This year’s Federal funding conference will focus on the subject matter that will not change, such as requirements under the Uniform Grant Guidance, but will also bring you the most up-to-date progress on the Every Student Succeeds Act’s regulations and what districts could expect to see in the coming year.
Over 20 concurrent sessions will handle the nuts and bolts of compliance, monitoring and management of your federal funds. New topic areas covered at the 2017 conference include:
- Federal Grants 101
- Virtual Schools and Federal Funding Requirements
- Common Audit and Monitoring Findings
- ESSA's New Requirements for Equitable Participation for Private Schools
- Overview of All of the LEA Requirements for Equitable Participation for Private Schools Under ESSA
- Uniform Grant Guidance Required Written Procedures: The Tale of the Business and the Auditor
- Introduction to Title IV
- Funding Regulations Around Supporting Students Experiencing Homelessness and Students in Foster Care
- Comprehensive CEIS
- School Level Expenditure Reporting Requirements Under ESSA - Open Forum
- ESSA's Maintenance of Effort Requirements and Title I Comparability Reporting
- Wisconsin Uniform Financial Accounting Requirements (WUFAR) 201
- Using Federal Funds to Support Family Engagement Initiatives
- WISEgrants Open Forum
Register early as conference space is limited and all prior conferences have sold out quickly.
Due to the high level of demand for this conference, cancellations received after February 1 will be responsible for the full amount of their conference registration.
