This course provides an overview of employee compensation and benefits in the K-12 public school setting. The course explores key distinctions between salaried vs. hourly employees and exempt vs. non-exempt classifications, as well as best practices for administering benefits, including health insurance, the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), and 403(b) plans. Additionally, participants will also gain an understanding of leave types such as sick leave, vacation, PTO, and FMLA.
