John Stellmacher

Chief Financial Officer | Kettle Moraine School District

Dr. John Stellmacher has served as Chief Financial Officer for the Kettle Moraine School District since 2019 and brings nearly 20 years of experience as a licensed school business manager. He has held leadership roles in the Barron Area, Waupun Area, Hartford Jt1, and Kettle Moraine school districts. John holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UW–Whitewater and a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from UW–Madison, where his 2025 dissertation examined the fiscal impact of Wisconsin’s School Choice programs.

A WASBO member since 2006, John has been deeply engaged in the organization as a presenter, committee member, regional facilitator, board member, and President (2020–21). Before joining the WASBO U team in 2026, he served as an adjunct instructor at Concordia University. Outside of his professional work, John enjoys traveling with his family, coaching youth softball, running, skiing, and serving as a trustee for St. Charles Catholic Parish in Hartland, Wisconsin.
