WASBO Information on Coronavirus

Last updated 12 PM on April 6, 2020

WASBO will continue to serve our members throughout the Coronavirus outbreak. Due to Governor's announcement on Monday, the WASBO office is now closed, and staff will be working from home. Please email, or if you leave us a phone message, please know we will return your call as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience.

To better accommodate our members, WASBO has extended its Call for Presentations window for the the Fall Conference and Midwest Facility Masters Conference to May 15. Apply today at wasbo.com/present.

We have made the difficult decision to cancel the WASBO Spring Conference (scheduled for May 14-15, 2020 at the Kalahari) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The cancellation includes the related events (Scholarship Golf Outing, President's Dinner, etc.).  We will all gather  together again when the time is right.  Until then, devote your time and attention to your families, local schools and communities, as you have thus far done so incredibly well.

Here’s what else you need to know:

Will WASBO reschedule the conference?
Due to the size of the conference, we are unable to reschedule it. We are currently investigating other means to provide you with timely content while we are not able to connect in person.

Will my conference attendee or exhibitor fee be refunded?
WASBO will issue refunds for attendees and exhibitors. We will issue refunds by June 30 or sooner. We appreciate your patience.

What about my exhibitor services order through Valley Expo?
Exhibitors who ordered online with Valley will get a 100% refund. Exhibitors who did not order online and we had to manually process the order will get a refund less $50.00 processing fee.

How will refunds be issued?
If you paid by a credit card, that credit card will be refunded, and you will receive an email. If you paid by check or ACH, you will be refunded by check.

What about my hotel reservation?
Please cancel your reservation at the Kalahari Convention Center here:

What about items usually addressed at the Spring Business Meeting?

We are reaching out to award winners, scholarship recipients, Wally Zastrow Leadership Academy graduates, and those who completed their CSRM designation or Facilities Management Certification to notify them that they will be recognized at the Fall Conference. WASBO also will be recognizing them at WASBO.com.

What about my sponsorship of the Spring Conference?
WASBO will issue refunds for your conference sponsorship by June 30 or sooner. Thank you for supporting the conference. 2020 sponsors will still be given the Right of First Refusal to sponsor the 2021 Spring Conference.

How will I find out the results of the WASBO Board of Directors Election?
WASBO will announce the election results at WASBO.com shortly after the April 30th conclusion of the election.

Will WASBO hold the President’s Dinner on May 12 at the Double Cut?
This event also has been cancelled. We look forward to seeing you in 2021 at the Madison Marriott West.

What about the Scholarship Golf Outing and Bike Ride Fundraisers on May 13?
Both of the Scholarship Fundraisers will be cancelled. If you would like to turn your attendee registration fee into a donation for WASBO’s Scholarship Fund, please email Tina.Hafeman@wasbo.com by April 14. We will recognize your contribution in the June edition of Taking Care of Business. If you do not indicate that you would like to make a donation by April 14, you will be refunded by June 30 or sooner.
