This course explores the fourth step in the risk management process—risk control—focusing on proactive strategies to reduce the frequency, severity, and unpredictability of loss in school districts. Participants will learn to apply key risk control techniques including avoidance, prevention, reduction, segregation, and non-financial transfer. Topics include facility and transportation safety, cyber risk mitigation, employment liability controls, crisis management planning, accident investigation, and regulatory compliance.
